The Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) district is preparing to adopt new curricular materials for high school English Language Arts (ELA) classrooms. Aiming to promote excellence in literacy instruction, IPS is seeking input from its stakeholders on the adoption.

A diverse and committed group of educators within IPS has been evaluating print and digital resources from several curriculum publishers over the past weeks. This review process has culminated in the selection of two final candidates: Carnegie Learning Lenses on Literature and McGraw Hill StudySync.

"Ensuring that our teachers and students have access to a rigorous, high-quality curriculum is essential to fostering excellence in literacy instruction across our district," a statement from the district reads.

IPS invites participation from all stakeholders, including teachers, parents, students, building leaders, and the broader community in this textbook adoption process. The community is encouraged to review the available information on each finalist and then cast their vote through a Google Form.

"Your voice matters in assisting us select a high-quality curriculum that reflects our shared educational goals and values," the district said.

They emphasize the importance of community feedback as they aim to shape the future of ELA instruction in high schools. "Your feedback is an important part of this process, and we thank you for your support," IPS expressed in their statement.
