Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) has announced that classes will commence with a two-hour delay on Tuesday, January 7. The decision comes as many roads and sidewalks in the city remain uncleared due to winter weather conditions.

All after-school activities scheduled for the day have been canceled. IPS advises students and parents to anticipate potential bus delays both in the morning and after school hours. To assist with planning, bus riders are encouraged to use the First View app for real-time tracking of their buses.

Students who walk to school or their bus stops are advised to allow extra time for their journeys. Additionally, parents and guardians are urged to ensure that students dress warmly due to colder temperatures while waiting at bus stops or walking.

It is noted that innovation schools within the district may follow different schedules. Parents should expect separate communications from these institutions regarding any schedule changes.
