With the upcoming legislative session on the horizon, Monroe County lawmakers are urging Hoosiers to participate in online surveys to provide feedback on pressing issues. Residents can access these surveys by visiting their state representative's webpage and selecting the "Take My Survey" option.
The webpages for Monroe County representatives are as follows: State Rep. Dave Hall (R-Norman) for House District 62 at in.gov/h62; State Rep. Bob Heaton (R-Terre Haute) for House District 46 at in.gov/h46; and State Rep. Peggy Mayfield (R-Martinsville) for House District 60 at in.gov/h60.
"The feedback we receive from these surveys helps us prioritize legislation that aligns with the needs and values of the people we serve," said Hall. He encouraged participation and input from constituents.
To complete the online surveys, participants must be residents of the district and submit their responses by December 31. Constituents can verify their district by visiting iga.in.gov, using the "Find Your Legislator" tool, and entering their home address. They may also receive a survey mailer from their state representative.
"By taking the time to complete this survey, constituents help guide the decisions I make on their behalf," stated Heaton, emphasizing its importance in legislative work.
The legislative session is set to begin on January 8 and conclude by April 29. Hoosiers can follow proceedings via iga.in.gov, which offers information on proposed legislation and livestreams of hearings and sessions.
"Receiving input from Hoosiers is an integral part of my job as a state representative," Mayfield expressed, looking forward to constituent feedback before the session begins.
