The deadline for applying to the Indiana House Republican internship for the 2025 legislative session is approaching, with applications due by October 31. The program offers a full-time, spring semester internship at the Statehouse in Indianapolis from January to April.
State Representative Dave Hall (R-Norman) described the internship as an opportunity for students to earn $900 biweekly and potentially gain academic credit through their college or university. "Interning at the Statehouse is not only educational, but it also helps students stand out in today's competitive job market," Hall said.
Representative Jim Lucas (R-Seymour) emphasized that interested college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates of all majors should apply online before the deadline. "Having work experience on your resume can make a huge difference when applying for jobs," Lucas noted.
Representative Chris May (R-Bedford) highlighted additional benefits such as free parking, career development assistance, and eligibility for a $3,000 scholarship toward education expenses. "The Statehouse is a great place for young Hoosiers to kick-start their careers," May remarked.
Internships offer roles in various departments including legislative operations, policy, and communications. Applications are available at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship.
