House Speaker-elect Todd Huston has announced the committee chair appointments for the Indiana House of Representatives for the 124th General Assembly. The appointments, made biennially following the November General Election, include one new chair. State Representative Jake Teshka will lead the House Financial Institutions Committee, succeeding State Representative Mike Speedy who is retiring.

Huston expressed confidence in the team of appointed chairs. "Our team is incredibly blessed to have experienced and talented members to serve in these vital roles, which include vetting legislation, working with stakeholders, hearing from the public and finding common ground," Huston stated. He added, "I'm confident in our team and their ability to tackle issues that matter most to Hoosiers, and I'm looking forward to having a productive session ahead."

The full list of House standing committee appointments is expected to be released in the coming weeks. The legislative session will formally commence on Organization Day, scheduled for November 19 at 1 p.m., where lawmakers will convene.
