The deadline for applying to the Indiana House Republican internship for the 2025 legislative session is approaching. State Representatives Bruce Borders and Shane Lindauer announced that applications are due by October 31.

Borders explained that this full-time internship takes place during the spring semester, from Monday to Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. The legislative session runs from January to April. Interns receive $900 biweekly and may earn academic credit through their educational institutions.

"House internships are a unique way to get a front row seat to how laws are made," said Borders. "For those interested in government or wanting to further their professional experience, this is a great opportunity."

Lindauer encouraged college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates of all majors to apply online before the deadline. He stated, "The internship program provides many benefits including developing job skills like time management, critical thinking and writing. It also offers a behind-the-scenes look at how state government runs and provides networking opportunities with state leaders."

Interns will benefit from free parking, career development assistance, and access to an Indiana government class. They can also apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship for educational expenses.

The program allows students to work in various departments such as legislative operations, policy, and communications.

Applications must be submitted by October 31 via indianahouserepublicans.com/internship.
