The deadline for applications to the Indiana House Republican internship program is approaching, with submissions due by October 31. State Representatives Stephen Bartels and Chris May have highlighted this opportunity for college students and recent graduates.

Bartels described the internship as a full-time position during the spring semester at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. The legislative session will run from January to April. Interns will receive $900 biweekly and may earn academic credit through their educational institutions.

"The legislative session is a busy time for legislators and our staff," Bartels stated. "Interns play a major role in making session efficient, which allows us to better serve Hoosiers."

May encouraged interested sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates of all majors to apply via indianahouserepublicans.com/internship before the deadline.

"The Statehouse is a great place for young Hoosiers to kick-start their careers," May noted. "These internships are an opportunity for students to work in a fast-paced, professional environment and learn more about how our state government works – making it a great program for all majors."

The internship offers free parking, career development assistance, and access to an Indiana government class. Interns can also apply for a $3,000 scholarship toward educational expenses.

Students can gain experience in various departments such as legislative operations, policy, and communications.

Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship until October 31.
