The deadline for applications to the Indiana House Republican internship program is approaching, with interested candidates required to submit their applications by October 31. This opportunity, highlighted by State Representatives Matt Lehman and J.D. Prescott, offers a full-time spring semester internship at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session from January to April.

Representative Prescott emphasized the value of this internship: "This internship is an experience students won’t find inside a classroom and a great way for them to learn how government works." Interns will work Monday through Friday and receive $900 biweekly, with the possibility of earning academic credit through their educational institutions.

Representative Lehman encouraged eligible students to apply: "Interning at the Statehouse gives young Hoosiers the opportunity to develop fundamental skills, which will help them in their future careers." He urged potential applicants not to miss out on this opportunity.

The program provides free parking, career development assistance, and access to an Indiana government class. Interns can also apply for a $3,000 scholarship for educational expenses. The internship allows students to work in departments such as legislative operations, policy, and communications.

Interested college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates from all majors are invited to apply online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship before the October 31 deadline.
