The deadline to apply for an Indiana House Republican internship during the 2025 legislative session is approaching, according to State Representatives Craig Haggard and Peggy Mayfield. Applications must be submitted by October 31.
Haggard explained that this full-time internship will take place from Monday through Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which begins in January and ends in April. Interns will earn $900 biweekly and may receive academic credit through their educational institutions.
"This opportunity is a chance for students to gain real-world experience and learn from legislators and staff," said Haggard. "The skills and networks built during this internship can open doors to great job opportunities."
Mayfield encouraged college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates of all majors to apply online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship before the deadline.
"Interns gain a better understanding of how our state government works while building a strong professional network," Mayfield stated. "It's a fantastic steppingstone for anyone looking to launch their career."
Benefits of the Indiana House internships include free parking, career development assistance, enrollment access to an Indiana government class, and eligibility for a competitive $3,000 scholarship applicable toward undergraduate or graduate expenses.
The program offers positions in various departments such as legislative operations, policy, and communications that align with students' fields of study.
Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship until October 31.
