Burlington Stores, a national discount retailer, has donated $5,000 through its partnership with the non-profit organization AdoptAClassroom.org to Washington Irving Neighborhood School. The donation marks the celebration of Burlington's new store at 110 W. Washington St.

The funds will be used to acquire school supplies to help ensure students at Washington Irving Neighborhood School have the necessary learning materials and tools for their education. A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org facilitated the donation by reaching out to district and school administrators.

Principal Brandon House stated that teachers would use the funds for new classroom items. “On behalf of the Washington Irving Neighborhood School, I would like to welcome our new local Burlington store to Indianapolis and thank them for their generous donation through their partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org to our school,” Principal House said. “Our teachers are so excited to purchase the tools they need for their students this year. We are thankful for the support we received from Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org.”

This initiative is part of Burlington’s holistic community giving approach aimed at adding value to local communities in partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org. Each time Burlington opens a new store, it celebrates by adopting and funding local classrooms in its new store community.
