Applications for internships with Indiana House Republicans for the 2025 legislative session are now open, according to State Representatives Bob Heaton (R-Terre Haute) and Alan Morrison (R-Brazil).

Heaton stated that the Indiana House of Representatives offers a spring semester internship at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which will start in January and conclude in April. House interns earn $900 biweekly and work full-time, Monday through Friday.

"The Statehouse internship program is an excellent platform for students to develop their professional skills and meet leaders from across the state," Heaton said. "I strongly encourage interested individuals who are eligible to apply."

Morrison mentioned that internships are open to college students and recent graduates of all majors. Interns receive free parking, career and professional development assistance, enrollment access to an Indiana government class, and opportunities to earn academic credits through their college or university.

"Serving as a House intern provides an extraordinary educational experience and the chance to work on real-world issues," Morrison said. "I encourage students to seize this opportunity and apply for our 2025 program."

The program offers opportunities for students to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy, and communications. Interns are also eligible to apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship to use toward undergraduate and graduate expenses.

Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
