Applications to intern with Indiana House Republicans for the 2025 legislative session are now open, according to State Reps. Cindy Ledbetter (R-Newburgh) and Shane Lindauer (R-Jasper).
Ledbetter stated that the Indiana House of Representatives offers a spring semester internship at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which will start in January and conclude in April. House interns earn $900 biweekly and work full-time, Monday through Friday.
"The internship program at the Statehouse can open many doors to a professional career," Ledbetter said. "It’s an excellent opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in the real world while earning money and college credit."
Lindauer mentioned that internships are available to college students and recent graduates of all majors. Interns receive free parking, career and professional development assistance, enrollment access to an Indiana government class, and opportunities to earn academic credits through their college or university.
"All of our interns' contributions are really invaluable during legislative sessions," Lindauer said. "This program's benefits are many, including developing job skills and networking with state leaders."
Internships are open to college students and recent graduates of all majors. Interns receive free parking, career and professional development assistance, enrollment access to an Indiana government class, and opportunities to earn academic credits through their college or university. Interns are also eligible to apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship to use toward undergraduate and graduate expenses.
The program provides opportunities for students to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy, and communications. Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
