State Reps. Jim Pressel (R-Rolling Prairie) and Kendell Culp (R-Rensselaer) have been appointed to serve on interim study committees, which will convene throughout the summer and fall to examine policy issues and propose solutions.

Legislators will gather testimony from the public, experts, and stakeholders as they prepare bill recommendations for the budget session in January. Pressel has been named chair of the Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation. Additionally, he will be a member of the Funding Indiana's Roads for a Stronger, Safer Tomorrow Task Force.

"With major projects involving bridges, roads, and highways taking place all across the state, it is important we continue adequate maintenance and funding of our infrastructure," Pressel said. "Through reviewing these needs on the local and state levels, we can ensure our roads and bridges remain safe for Hoosiers and visitors alike."

Culp will serve as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Elections.

The 2024 legislative interim study committee assignments and other legislative appointments for House members are available online. Committee hearings typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis and can be viewed live on the General Assembly's website at iga.in.gov.

State Rep. Kendell Culp (R-Rensselaer) represents House District 16, which includes portions of Jasper, Pulaski, Starke, and White counties.
