The 2025 legislative session concluded with the passage of Indiana's two-year budget, along with tax relief and other significant measures for residents. State Representative Ed Soliday (R-Valparaiso) announced that the new budget includes a plan to lower state income taxes over the next two years, which is expected to save taxpayers more than $200 million annually. Additionally, property tax relief and reform legislation was advanced, contributing to an estimated $1.3 billion in savings for Hoosiers over two years.

Significant investments were also made in K-12 education and public safety sectors. "As Indiana works to establish itself as a hotspot for new forms of energy generation, a new law I authored ensures that Hoosier ratepayers are protected," Soliday stated. He added that priority bills passed during this session would streamline government operations, reduce taxes, and continue lowering living costs.

Eight House Republican priority items progressed to the Governor's desk by the session's end. These include House Enrolled Act 1001, which enacts a balanced two-year state budget aimed at making government more efficient while supporting education and public safety.

House Enrolled Act 1002 seeks to reduce regulations on K-12 schools, allowing local communities greater control over educational decisions. House Enrolled Act 1003 focuses on lowering health care costs through improved transparency and patient control over treatment options.

Other acts include ensuring nonprofit hospitals function as intended (House Enrolled Act 1004), improving housing access through expanded infrastructure programs (House Enrolled Act 1005), creating a review board for prosecutors who do not enforce laws (House Enrolled Act 1006), addressing today's energy economy needs (House Enrolled Act 1007), and inviting Illinois counties considering secession to join Indiana (House Enrolled Act 1008).
