Jasper County native Ben Olson is gaining practical experience working alongside State Rep. Kendell Culp (R-Rensselaer) and other members of the Indiana House of Representatives. Olson, a graduate of Rensselaer Central High School and Purdue University, where he studied biology and history, is participating in the legislative session as an intern.

His responsibilities include communicating with constituents via phone calls, letters, and emails, as well as assisting with committee hearings and floor proceedings. "Every day introduces a new adventure and the opportunity to learn something new while being able to help serve the great people of Indiana," Olson remarked. He appreciates observing how his representative impacts the local community and state.

Rep. Culp noted, "Ben has been able to create connections with so many great people who can help him on his career path. Lawmakers and staff rely on interns like him to ensure a successful legislative session."

The Indiana House of Representatives provides paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students, and recent graduates at the beginning of each year during the annual legislative session. Further details can be found at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/internship.
