Hendricks County residents Cray Dolder and Dalton Jackson are participating as interns with State Representative Jeff Thompson and other members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2025 legislative session.
"Cray and Dalton are doing amazing work at the Statehouse this session," said Thompson. "The help they're providing legislators and constituents is invaluable as we work to address some of the biggest issues facing our state."
Dolder, a graduate of Tri-West High School, is currently a junior at Purdue University majoring in political science and global studies with a minor in psychology. He expressed his enthusiasm for making a difference, stating, "This has been a really rewarding experience and I am thankful for the opportunity to work with our lawmakers at the Statehouse." As a policy intern, Dolder's responsibilities include conducting research, preparing committee reports, and assisting staff and lawmakers with legislative inquiries.
Jackson, also from Tri-West High School, recently graduated from Indiana University Bloomington where he majored in law and public policy with a minor in entrepreneurship. He shared his satisfaction with the internship: "I'm happy to give my time to what feels like a greater cause – something bigger than just myself." His role as a legislative intern involves corresponding with constituents through various channels while also staffing committee hearings.
The House of Representatives offers paid internships annually to college students, law-school students, graduate students, and recent graduates during its legislative sessions. More information about these opportunities can be found at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship.
