State Representative Beau Baird has been appointed as the new chair of the Indiana State Fair Commission Advisory Committee. The appointment was made by House Speaker Todd Huston, who represents Fishers.

In his new role, Baird will be responsible for guiding policies and initiatives that support the mission of the Indiana State Fair. This mission focuses on showcasing the state's agricultural heritage, youth programs, and community engagement.

"I am honored to be appointed as chair of the Indiana State Fair Commission Advisory Committee," said Baird. "The Indiana State Fair is a cornerstone of our state’s agricultural tradition and economic growth. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure its continued success and to support the farmers, businesses and communities that make it great."

The advisory committee plays an essential role in reviewing policies and programs for both the Indiana State Fair Commission and the Indiana State Fair Board. The commission manages the 214-acre Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center located in Indianapolis, which hosts the annual fair and various events throughout the year.

Baird also serves as chair of the House Environmental Affairs Committee. He has been a strong advocate for agriculture and rural communities in Indiana. As a lifelong resident of Indiana, he is dedicated to enhancing the impact of the state fair, ensuring it remains a premier event for families, exhibitors, and visitors.

Established in 1852, the Indiana State Fair is one of America's longest-running state fairs. It attracts hundreds of thousands each year with livestock exhibitions, 4-H competitions, entertainment events, and educational programming that emphasize Indiana's agricultural and cultural heritage.
