André Carson, a U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district, has recently taken to social media to express his views on significant political issues. Serving in Congress since 2008 after succeeding Julia Carson, he has been vocal about healthcare and civil rights matters.

On March 10, 2025, Carson highlighted the importance of Medicaid over political slogans such as "MAGA." He called for bipartisan support to maintain Medicaid funding by stating: "Medicaid is more important than MAGA... We need just 3 Republicans to join Democrats & vote to keep Medicaid fully funded and running. Members of Congress are accountable to the people who elected us – not Donald Trump."

The following day, March 11, Carson addressed concerns regarding former President Trump's use of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He accused Trump of suppressing dissent and violating First Amendment rights. Citing the case of Mahmoud Khalil, a legal green card holder allegedly targeted for activism, Carson demanded Khalil's release by stating: "President Trump is illegally using ICE to silence dissent and is waging a war on the First Amendment... Mahmoud Khalil is a legal green card holder who was targeted for his activism. He is a political prisoner. I’m demanding his immediate release."

Later that day, Carson reiterated his commitment to protecting healthcare services in America by declaring his intention to vote against cuts affecting Medicaid and veterans' healthcare: "I’m voting to protect Americans from devastating cuts to Medicaid and veterans’ healthcare."
