U.S. Senators Todd Young and Jim Banks, both Republicans from Indiana, have opened the application process for state-level leadership roles within the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). They are inviting candidates to submit their applications by March 21, 2025.

Interested individuals should send a cover letter, resume, and up to three letters of recommendation to nominations@young.senate.gov. The positions aim to support Indiana's significant agriculture sector. "As a top agriculture-producing state, Indiana’s ag community is filled with hard-working individuals dedicated to providing for our state, nation, and world. We look forward to nominating two qualified Hoosier leaders to continue serving our state in these roles," stated Senators Young and Banks.

The senators will evaluate all applications received and select candidates for interviews. Recommendations will then be made to the Trump Administration, which holds the authority for final appointment decisions. Once appointed by the White House, the directors can begin their duties without requiring Senate confirmation.
