The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has appointed State Representative Kendell Culp of Rensselaer, Indiana, to its Local Government Advisory Committee. The committee's purpose is to provide insight to the president and executive branch on key issues by collaborating with various governing bodies to find practical and sustainable solutions.

"In this new position, I look forward to bringing my experience with local government and farming to aid the EPA on issues involving the environment and public health," said Culp. "I am honored to have been chosen for this committee and look forward to working with other leaders around the country."

Established in 1993, the Local Government Advisory Committee serves as a bridge between federal and local governments. It is one of 23 committees under the EPA that advises on matters such as pesticides, drinking water quality, air quality, rural community welfare, and children's health.

Culp will maintain his role as state representative for House District 16 and vice chair of the House Environmental Affairs Committee while contributing to the EPA committee. For more information about Culp's legislative activities, visit in.gov/h16 or contact his office at 317-232-9819.
