Applications are now open for the Indiana House Page Program during the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. Northeast Indiana legislators have announced that Hoosier students aged 13 to 18 can apply to participate.

State Representative David Abbott, representing Rome City, highlighted the benefits of the program. "The House Page Program is a unique experience that young Hoosiers should not pass up," he said. "Students can meet and work alongside lawmakers and learn more about the state legislature firsthand."

The program offers students a chance to assist lawmakers and staff, tour the Indiana Statehouse, and observe legislative sessions. Applications are available at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram, with details on available days during the session running from January 8 to April 29.

State Representative Tony Isa from Angola encouraged participation among students from District 51. "Hoosier students will get the opportunity to explore the Statehouse, visit the House Chamber and watch the legislative session," he stated.

Representative Ben Smaltz of Auburn mentioned that interested students could page on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the session, with large groups participating on Wednesdays only. Students will receive an excused absence from school for their participation.

"State legislators appreciate when students come to the Statehouse and ask questions about the legislative process," Smaltz noted. "The page program helps them learn more about Indiana government and our history."

Participants must arrange their own lunch and transportation to Indianapolis.
