State Representative Lori Goss-Reaves has awarded Dan Spencer, Wayne “Spike” Gaskin, and Lezlie Winter with the Circle of Corydon Award. The award acknowledges their dedication to education and community service.

Goss-Reaves expressed her appreciation for the honorees' contributions, stating, "When a community finds leaders with a tireless work ethic, a love for children, a passion for education, and a servant’s heart, the community is richly blessed." She presented the awards on behalf of Governor Holcomb.

Dan Spencer was recognized for his over 30 years of service on the Eastbrook Community Schools Board of Trustees. He played a key role in advocating for the reinstatement of the Future Farmers of America program. According to Goss-Reaves, his efforts have been vital to its success in the community.

Wayne “Spike” Gaskin served 24 years on the Mississinewa Community Schools Board of Trustees, including seven years as president. His commitment extended beyond education as he also served in the United States Marine Corps.

Lezlie Winter began her career in education in 1981 at Mississinewa Community Schools. Over more than two decades, she has held various leadership roles including assistant principal and superintendent. Goss-Reaves highlighted Winter's influence on shaping Mississinewa High School's future.

Goss-Reaves remarked on their impact: “The number of lives these individuals have positively impacted is countless.” She praised their dedication to improving schools and communities.

The Circle of Corydon Award was created by Governor Holcomb in 2017 to honor those who contribute significantly to Indiana's development. It is uniquely signed by both executive and legislative branch members.

State Rep. Lori Goss-Reaves represents House District 31 covering parts of Grant and Madison counties.
