State Representative Lorissa Sweet, a Republican from Wabash, has been appointed to three significant committees in the Indiana House of Representatives. Sweet will serve on the House Agriculture and Rural Development Committee, the House Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee, and the House Local Government Committee.

"This legislative session, we will be diving into a number of different topics to explore the best options for Hoosiers," said Sweet. "I'm excited to get back to work as I will continue to support our farmers and be a voice at the Statehouse for our most vulnerable."

Committee appointments in the Indiana House are made by the Speaker every two years following November elections. These appointments remain effective throughout lawmakers' two-year terms.

The upcoming legislative session is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Citizens can access iga.in.gov for information on legislation, schedules, and live streams of committee meetings and sessions.

Sweet also encourages her constituents to sign up for e-newsletter updates through in.gov/h50 for ongoing information about activities at the Statehouse during and after the legislative session.
