State Representatives Jack Jordan and Jake Teshka have been appointed to key House standing committees at the Indiana Statehouse. These appointments are made biennially by the Indiana House Speaker following the November elections and remain effective for the duration of members' two-year terms.

Jack Jordan, representing Bremen, will continue his role as chair of the House Ways and Means Committee's Budget Subcommittee. Additionally, he will serve on the House Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee and the Government and Regulatory Reform Committee. Jordan emphasized fiscal responsibility, stating, "This legislative session we'll work to keep Indiana fiscally responsible while helping Hoosiers save more of their paycheck." He encouraged constituents to engage with his office for questions or comments.

Jake Teshka from North Liberty has been named chair of the House Financial Institutions Committee. He will also be a member of both the House Education Committee and the House Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee. Teshka expressed enthusiasm about his new role: "As the new chair of the House Financial Institutions Committee, I will use my previous experience as vice chair to listen and review commonsense legislation that benefits our communities." He highlighted the importance of committee responsibilities in vetting bills through public testimony and amendments.

The 2025 legislative session is set to commence on January 8 at 1:30 p.m., where lawmakers will gather for their first day. The public can access information about legislation, calendars, committee meetings, and sessions via iga.in.gov.

Jack Jordan represents House District 17, covering all of Fulton County along with parts of Marshall and Pulaski counties.
