State Representatives Lorissa Sweet and Craig Snow have been appointed to key committees in the Indiana House of Representatives. These appointments are made by the Indiana House Speaker every two years following the November elections and last for the duration of a member's term.

Representative Sweet will serve on three committees: Agriculture and Rural Development, Family, Children and Human Affairs, and Local Government. She expressed her commitment to addressing various issues during the legislative session. "This legislative session, we will be diving into a number of different topics to explore the best options for Hoosiers," Sweet stated. "I'm excited to get back to work as I will continue to support our farmers and be a voice at the Statehouse for our most vulnerable."

Representative Snow has been named vice chair of the Ways and Means Committee and will also serve on the Insurance Committee. He emphasized fiscal responsibility in his new role. "As the new vice chair of the Ways and Means Committee, we must be sensible about how we allocate the state's money," Snow said. "I will use my previous experience as a member of the committee to review upcoming legislation and work to improve the lives of Hoosiers." Snow highlighted that committees play a crucial role in reviewing bills, hearing public testimony, and considering amendments.

The Indiana House is set to begin its 2025 legislative session on January 8 at 1:30 p.m. Citizens can access information about legislation, calendars, committee meetings, and sessions online at iga.in.gov.
