State Rep. Beau Baird of Greencastle has been appointed to serve on three key House committees. Baird will take on the role of vice chair for the House Agriculture and Rural Development Committee, and he will also be a member of both the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Rules and Legislative Procedures Committee.

"Indiana's farmers and rural communities are the backbone to our state's success, and I'm proud to advocate for them through our committee's work," said Baird. "I'm eager to continue addressing issues that impact Hoosiers and ensure we remain a leader in agriculture and fiscal responsibility."

The Indiana House Speaker appoints members to standing committees biennially after November elections, with appointments lasting for two-year terms.

The upcoming legislative session is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Hoosiers can access legislation, calendars, committee meetings, and sessions online at iga.in.gov.

Baird invites constituents to visit in.gov/h44 for e-newsletter updates regarding Statehouse activities throughout the legislative session.
