André Carson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Indiana's 7th district, has shared his thoughts on several pressing issues through recent social media posts. Known for his advocacy and legislative efforts, Carson addressed topics ranging from government efficiency to historical commemorations.

On December 6, 2024, Carson emphasized the importance of maintaining essential programs while pursuing governmental efficiency. He stated, "I’m all for government efficiency. But we can improve efficiency without cutting programs Hoosiers rely on." Carson highlighted his efforts in securing funding for RecycleForce, an initiative that aids individuals in re-entering the workforce. However, he expressed concern about potential funding cuts that could impact this program.

Later that day, Carson turned his attention to a significant legal issue regarding the exception to slavery as punishment for a crime in several states, including Indiana. He marked the anniversary of the ratification of the 13th Amendment by expressing his support for legislative change: "In most states, slavery is still legal as punishment for a crime – including in Indiana." Carson announced his co-sponsorship of the Abolition Amendment bill led by Representatives Nikema Williams and Senator Jeff Merkley to address this loophole.

On December 7, 2024, Carson paid tribute to the lives lost during a pivotal moment in American history—the attack on Pearl Harbor. Reflecting on its enduring impact on national consciousness, he stated: "Today, we remember the attack on Pearl Harbor 83 years ago, which changed our nation’s history." He acknowledged the sacrifice of over 2,300 servicemembers who perished during this event.
