U.S. Senator Todd Young has announced his nominations for appointments to the United States service academies. A total of 140 high school students submitted applications, with 75 being selected for interviews conducted by an advisory board chosen by Senator Young. Of these, 47 candidates from Indiana were nominated.

The nomination is a necessary step in the admission process but does not guarantee entry into a service academy. Nominees are evaluated based on personal merit, including character, leadership skills, academic performance, physical aptitude, and involvement in extracurricular activities.

“I had the privilege of recommending a talented group of Hoosiers for admission to the United States service academies this year,” stated Senator Young. “These young men and women are highly qualified to serve our country, and I’m very proud of their hard work. I wish them the best of luck in their application process.”

The nominees include students from various high schools across Indiana who have been nominated to different academies such as the United States Air Force Academy, Military Academy, Merchant Marine Academy, and Naval Academy.
