Andrew Ireland takes oath as state representative for House District 90

Andrew Ireland of Indianapolis has officially taken office as the state representative for House District 90. The district covers the southeastern part of Marion County. The oath was administered by Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush during a swearing-in ceremony held in the House Chamber at the Statehouse on Organization Day, marking the beginning of the 2025 legislative session.

Ireland expressed his commitment to his new role, stating, "It's an incredible honor to represent the people of House District 90 at the Statehouse." He outlined his priorities which include addressing crime in the state capital, enhancing education quality and options for Hoosier families, and protecting taxpayers by controlling government excesses.

At present, Ireland is noted as the youngest member serving in the General Assembly. Professionally, he works as a labor and employment attorney with a firm based in Indianapolis that serves trucking and transportation companies nationwide. His previous experience includes working as a deputy attorney general with Indiana's Office of Attorney General.

His educational background includes law and bachelor's degrees from Indiana University and an MBA from Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea. Ireland also contributes to his community through his role on the board of the Franklin Township Business Alliance. He resides in Franklin Township with his wife Maddie and they are members of Indian Creek Christian Church.
