Senator Todd Young of Indiana introduced two nominees for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. The nominees, Judge Cristal Brisco and Judge Gretchen Lund, currently serve in Indiana's state courts.

Judge Cristal Brisco is a St. Joseph County Superior Court judge appointed by Governor Eric Holcomb in 2021. She has strong ties to Indiana, having grown up in Gary and pursued her education at Valparaiso University and Notre Dame Law School. Brisco resides in South Bend with her family.

Judge Gretchen Lund has been serving as a Superior Court judge in Elkhart County since 2015. Her career also includes roles as a judge in Goshen City Court and as a deputy prosecutor in Elkhart County. Like Brisco, Lund is deeply rooted in Indiana, having attended Butler University and Valparaiso University. She lives with her family in Goshen.

Senator Young expressed his support for both nominees, highlighting their dedication to justice within their communities. "The judges in our state courts are working incredibly hard every day to administer justice," he stated. He further praised Judges Lund and Brisco as two of the state's finest judges, noting that if confirmed, they would be missed locally but expected to maintain their professionalism on the federal bench.
