U.S. Senator Todd Young has announced his nominations for appointments to the United States service academies. The announcement follows an application process that involved 150 high school students, with 77 being selected for interviews by an advisory board chosen by Senator Young. From these, 51 candidates from across Indiana received nominations.

A nomination is a prerequisite for consideration but does not guarantee admission to a service academy. Nominees are evaluated based on personal merit, which includes character, leadership, academic performance, physical aptitude, and involvement in extracurricular activities.

“I had the privilege of recommending a talented group of Hoosiers for admission to the United States service academies this year,” stated Senator Young. “These young men and women are highly qualified to serve our country, and I’m very proud of their hard work. I wish them the best of luck in their application process.”

The list of nominees spans four major U.S. service academies: the Air Force Academy, Military Academy at West Point, Merchant Marine Academy, and Naval Academy.
