The deadline for applying to the Indiana House Republican internship for the 2025 legislative session is approaching, as announced by local lawmakers. The application period closes on October 31.

State Representative Chris Jeter from Fisher emphasized that this full-time internship spans the spring semester and takes place Monday through Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. The legislative session will commence in January and end in April. Interns receive $900 biweekly and may earn academic credit through their educational institutions.

"Interns get to network with lawmakers, business owners and other professionals in the public and private sectors from around the state," Jeter stated. "I encourage students of all majors to apply now for this experience and opportunity to build their resume."

Representative Cory Criswell from Middletown highlighted that college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates from all fields should complete their applications by visiting indianahouserepublicans.com/internship before October 31.

“As someone who spent years in education, I know how valuable internships can be for a student's personal and professional growth,” Criswell remarked. “Whether you are interested in law, policy or communications, this internship gives you the skills and connections that can launch you into a great career.”

Bob Cherry, representing Greenfield, noted that Indiana House internships offer benefits such as free parking, career development support, access to an Indiana government class, and eligibility for a competitive $3,000 scholarship toward educational expenses.

"I’ve had the pleasure of working with many interns during my time in the House,” Cherry said. “This program helps shape careers for students and allows them to participate in meaningful work that impacts our state.”

The internship provides opportunities across various departments aligned with students' studies including legislative operations, policy-making, and communications.

Applications must be submitted online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship by October 31.
