The deadline for applications to the Indiana House Republican internship program for the 2025 legislative session is approaching, as announced by State Representatives David Abbott and Craig Snow. The final date to apply is October 31.

According to Abbott, this full-time internship runs from Monday through Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which begins in January and ends in April. Interns will earn $900 biweekly and may receive academic credit through their respective colleges or universities.

"Our communications, legislative and policy interns all have the opportunity to work with lawmakers and other state leaders, which can help them establish a professional network that could lead to future job prospects," Abbott stated. He urged students of all majors to submit their applications before the deadline.

Snow emphasized that college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. "The House Republican Internship Program provides a valuable experience to students who want to learn more about government and see how the lawmaking process works," Snow remarked. "This is a very rewarding opportunity that can set your resume apart from your peers."

Interns benefit from free parking, career development support, and enrollment access to an Indiana government class. They are also eligible for a competitive $3,000 scholarship for undergraduate or graduate expenses.

The program allows students to work in departments aligned with their studies such as legislative operations, policy, and communications. Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and must be submitted by October 31.
