State Representative J.D. Prescott of Union City recently conducted a listening tour across House District 33, engaging with local business owners, leaders, and constituents. Prescott emphasized the importance of staying connected with the community he serves, stating, "As a state representative, it's important that I stay connected with the people I serve."

The tour commenced at the Union City Fire Department where Prescott met firefighters Tim Crawford and Dusty Brunner. He noted the insights gained about emergency services operations in the region.

Prescott also visited Workhorse's manufacturing facility in Union City. Workhorse is known for its high-performance drone-integrated, battery-electric vehicles. Discussions centered around production plans and potential partnerships.

In Randolph County, Prescott explored the 4-H building and Art Depot to learn about their programs and community offerings. At Portland's John Jay Learning Center, he toured facilities including tech centers and an industrial automation lab with executive director Rusty Inman.

"The businesses and organizations in our area are really doing incredible work," Prescott remarked. He encouraged constituents to share legislative ideas as the session approaches in January.

The tour concluded in Winchester with Mayor Bob McCoy discussing local plans and improvements. They also visited Winchester Speedway, a renowned racing venue.
