The deadline for applying to the Indiana House Republican internship for the 2025 legislative session is approaching, as announced by State Representative Wendy McNamara. The application period closes on October 31.
This full-time internship takes place during the spring semester from Monday to Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. The legislative session will run from January to April. Interns receive $900 biweekly and may earn academic credit through their educational institutions.
"A House internship is a tremendous opportunity for young Hoosiers to use the knowledge they learned in the classroom and apply it to a real-world setting," said McNamara. "As a former intern, I was able to put my skills to the test and build upon what I had already learned."
McNamara encourages college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates of all majors to apply by visiting indianahouserepublicans.com/internship before October 31.
Internships include benefits such as free parking, career development assistance, and access to an Indiana government class. Interns can also compete for a $3,000 scholarship applicable toward undergraduate or graduate expenses.
The program provides opportunities across various departments related to students' fields of study, including legislative operations, policy, and communications.
Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and must be submitted by October 31.
