The deadline for applications to the Indiana House Republican internship program is approaching, with submissions due by October 31. This full-time internship will take place during the 2025 legislative session from January to April at the Statehouse in Indianapolis.

State Representative Martin Carbaugh emphasized the benefits of this opportunity, stating, "Internships are often where students build connections that lead them to their first job after graduation." He noted that interns receive $900 biweekly and can earn academic credit through their educational institutions.

Representative Dave Heine encouraged interested college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates to apply. "During their time interning at the Statehouse, students work on a variety of tasks like helping constituents, providing public updates on session and analyzing policy," he said.

Chris Judy highlighted additional perks of the internship: free parking, career development assistance, and access to an Indiana government class. Interns may also compete for a $3,000 scholarship for educational expenses. "Statehouse internships are where many young Hoosier professionals launch their careers," Judy remarked.

Bob Morris mentioned that participants have opportunities across various departments such as legislative operations and communications. "I hope to see students from Allen County take part in the House Republican Internship Program," Morris stated.

Applications can be submitted online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship until October 31.
