The deadline for applications to the Indiana House Republican internship program is approaching, with submissions due by October 31. State Representatives J.D. Prescott and Elizabeth Rowray have highlighted the benefits of this full-time internship, which runs from January to April during the legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
According to Prescott, interns work Monday through Friday and earn $900 biweekly. The program offers academic credit opportunities through participants' colleges or universities. "This internship is an experience students won’t find inside a classroom and a great way for them to learn how government works," Prescott stated. He encouraged students not to miss out on participating in the legislative process.
Rowray emphasized that college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates from all majors are eligible to apply. Applications can be completed online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship before the deadline. "I always look forward to working with each new group of interns and seeing their professional growth," Rowray said, urging eligible students to seize this opportunity.
Interns benefit from free parking, career development assistance, access to an Indiana government class, and eligibility for a competitive $3,000 scholarship for educational expenses. The program provides roles in various departments such as legislative operations, policy-making, and communications.
Applications must be submitted by October 31 via indianahouserepublicans.com/internship.
