The deadline for applying to the Indiana House Republican internship for the 2025 legislative session is approaching, with applications due by October 31. State Representatives Kendell Culp and Jim Pressel are urging students to apply soon.
Kendell Culp described the internship as a full-time position during the spring semester, operating Monday through Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. The legislative session will run from January to April. Interns receive $900 biweekly and may earn academic credit through their college or university.
"The deadline to apply for a House internship is right around the corner," Culp stated. "With opportunities like working with our constituent services, policy or communications teams, students of any major can find the right fit. This is an excellent resume builder and I encourage local students to apply soon."
Jim Pressel emphasized that college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates from all majors should consider applying online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship before October 31.
"With opportunities in a variety of departments, there is something for all students and recent graduates," Pressel noted. "To be competitive in today's job market, having a strong internship experience can set you apart from your peers, and that's exactly what this internship can help you do."
Internships offer benefits such as free parking, career development assistance, and access to an Indiana government class. Interns may also apply for a $3,000 scholarship toward educational expenses.
The program provides roles in various departments including legislative operations, policy-making, and communications relevant to students' fields of study.
Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship until October 31.
