The deadline for applications to the Indiana House Republican internship program is approaching, with submissions due by October 31. The internship, available during the 2025 legislative session, runs from January to April at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. It offers participants $900 biweekly and the opportunity to earn academic credit.
State Rep. Dale DeVon (R-Granger) highlighted the benefits of the program: "Young Hoosiers will not only learn valuable skills by interning with the House, but they will also get paid and earn school credit while doing it." He encourages students from his area to apply.
State Rep. Jake Teshka (R-North Liberty), a former intern himself, recommends that college sophomores through recent graduates visit indianahouserepublicans.com/internship to apply before the deadline. "As a former intern, I was able to see and experience how the legislative process works, which was incredibly rewarding," Teshka said.
Interns will receive free parking, career development assistance, and access to an Indiana government class. They can also apply for a $3,000 scholarship toward educational expenses. State Rep. Tim Wesco (R-Osceola) commented on the dynamic environment: "Each day there is something new and exciting happening at the Statehouse during session."
The internship program offers roles in various departments such as legislative operations, policy, and communications.
Applications must be submitted online by October 31.
