The deadline for applying to the Indiana House Republican internship for the 2025 legislative session is approaching, as announced by State Representatives Michael Aylesworth and Sharon Negele. The final date to submit applications is October 31.
According to Aylesworth, this full-time internship will take place from Monday through Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session starting in January and ending in April. Interns will earn $900 biweekly and may receive academic credit from their college or university.
"Students who intern at the Statehouse often find many pathways to future careers," stated Aylesworth. "No matter your major, this internship can be incredibly rewarding and a great addition to a professional resume."
Negele emphasized that interested college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates of all majors should apply online before the deadline. She noted, "From networking to learning about policy and government, the Statehouse is the perfect place to explore new paths for your future career."
The internship program provides free parking, career development assistance, and access to an Indiana government class. Interns are also eligible for a competitive $3,000 scholarship for educational expenses.
Internship opportunities are available in various departments such as legislative operations, policy, and communications.
Applications can be submitted online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship until October 31.
