Applications to intern with Indiana House Republicans for the 2025 legislative session are now open, according to State Reps. Dale DeVon (R-Granger) and Jake Teshka (R-North Liberty).
DeVon stated that the Indiana House of Representatives offers a spring semester internship at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which will start in January and conclude in April. House interns earn $900 biweekly and work full-time, Monday through Friday.
"Now is the time to submit an application and not miss out on this beneficial experience at the Statehouse," DeVon said. "I hope to see college students and recent graduates from our area get involved with this internship program during the legislative session."
Teshka mentioned that internships are open to college students and recent graduates of all majors. Interns receive free parking, career and professional development assistance, enrollment access to an Indiana government class, and opportunities to earn academic credits through their college or university.
"Getting a unique, hands-on experience like this can help students launch their careers in either the private or public sector,” Teshka said. "Interning at the Statehouse allows students to practice what they've learned in school and build their talents for the next big opportunity."
Interns are also eligible to apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship to use toward undergraduate and graduate expenses.
The program offers opportunities for students to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy, and communications.
Indiana House Republican intern recruiters will be available to talk with area students Sept. 16-18 at the University of Notre Dame during their 2024 Career Fair Week. Visit careerfair.nd.edu/ for more information.
Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
