Applications to intern with Indiana House Republicans for the 2025 legislative session are now open, according to State Rep. J.D. Prescott (R-Union City).

Prescott stated that the Indiana House of Representatives offers a spring semester internship at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which will start in January and conclude in April. House interns earn $900 biweekly and work full-time, Monday through Friday.

"This is a great opportunity for students to build their resumes while gaining real-life work experience," Prescott said. "We know from past interns that this internship can be rewarding and helps jump-start a future for many students out there today."

Internships are open to college students and recent graduates of all majors. Interns receive free parking, career and professional development assistance, enrollment access to an Indiana government class, and opportunities to earn academic credits through their college or university.

Interns are also eligible to apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship to use toward undergraduate and graduate expenses.

The program offers opportunities for students to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy, and communications.

Indiana House Republican intern recruiters will be available to talk with area students on Sept. 18 at the Ball State University Cardinal Job Fair. Recruiters will also be available on Oct. 8 at the Taylor University Fall Internship and Career Fair.

Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
