Applications to intern with Indiana House Republicans for the 2025 legislative session are now open, according to State Reps. Alan Morrison (R-Brazil) and Sharon Negele (R-Attica).
Morrison stated that the Indiana House of Representatives offers a spring semester internship at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which will start in January and conclude in April. House interns earn $900 biweekly and work full-time, Monday through Friday.
"Serving as a House intern provides an extraordinary educational experience and the chance to work on real-world issues," Morrison said. "I encourage students to seize this opportunity and apply for our 2025 program."
Negele noted that internships are open to college students and recent graduates of all majors. Interns receive free parking, career and professional development assistance, enrollment access to an Indiana government class, and opportunities to earn academic credits through their college or university.
"This is an experience that gives students an opportunity to get paid while working for leaders from across the state and develop new skills to grow professionally," Negele said. "I encourage any college student or recent graduate to apply today."
The program offers opportunities for students to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy, and communications. Interns are also eligible to apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship to use toward undergraduate and graduate expenses.
Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
Indiana House Republican intern recruiters will be available to talk with area students on Sept. 9 and 12 at Purdue University during the Public Impact Fair and Daniels School of Business Fair. Visit cco.purdue.edu to register for the event.
