Applications for 2025 Statehouse internships with Indiana House Republicans are now open, according to State Representatives Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) and Shane Lindauer (R-Jasper).
Borders announced that the Indiana House of Representatives offers a spring semester internship at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which will start in January and conclude in April. House interns earn $900 biweekly and work full time, Monday through Friday.
"Our internship program is a fantastic way for students to dive into the workings of state government," Borders said. "I encourage those with a passion for public service to apply and take part in shaping Indiana's future."
Lindauer mentioned that internships are available to college students and recent graduates of all majors. Interns receive free parking, career and professional development assistance, enrollment access to an Indiana government class, and opportunities to earn academic credits through their college or university.
"All of our interns' contributions are really invaluable during legislative sessions," Lindauer said. "This program's benefits are many, including developing job skills and networking with state leaders."
Interns can also apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship toward undergraduate and graduate expenses.
The program offers opportunities for students to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy, and communications.
Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
State Representative Bruce Borders represents House District 45, which includes all of Greene and Sullivan counties, as well as portions of Daviess, Knox, and Vigo counties.
