State Rep. Lindsay Patterson (R-Brookville) has been appointed to serve on key summer study committees. These interim committees convene throughout the summer and fall to explore and review policy issues, working collaboratively to identify solutions.

Patterson will be a member of the Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation and the Interim Study Committee on Environmental Affairs.

"I look forward to serving on these committees and working with my colleagues on a number of issues, and I remain focused on finding ways we can continue to improve roads, especially in rural communities like ours," Patterson said. “Taking time in the summer and fall to study these topics helps us decide if new legislation should be presented during session.”

Legislators will hear testimony from the public, various experts, and stakeholders as they work on bill recommendations ahead of the budget session in January.

The 2024 legislative interim study committee assignments and other legislative appointments for House members can be found here. The list of study committee topics is also available online. Committee hearings typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis and can be viewed live on the General Assembly's website at iga.in.gov.
