State Rep. Sharon Negele (R-Attica) has been appointed to several summer study committees, aimed at preparing for the next legislative session starting in January. These interim committees focus on examining policy issues, gathering public input, and recommending potential legislation.

"I look forward to hearing about a wide range of issues, including an update on our broadband expansion efforts," Negele stated. "Many of our rural communities still struggle with access to high-speed and affordable internet, and it's critical we do more to close the gap."

Negele will participate in the Interim Study Committee on Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications, which reviews Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission reports on supply, demand, consumer pricing, and other data. Additionally, she will join the Interim Committee on Corrections and Criminal Code to analyze criminal behavior trends such as sentencing, incarceration, and treatment.

The public is invited to attend and testify at these committee hearings held at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. Hearings are also available via livestream and archived online at iga.in.gov. Committee calendars and meeting agendas can be accessed through the same site.
