Monumental Awards Project Submissions are Open
The Indy Chamber is now accepting submissions for the 2022 Monumental Awards, recognizing excellence in landscape architecture, interior design, real estate development, architecture, engineering, construction, neighborhood revitalization, reuse, and public art. The 2022 event marks the 45th Monumental Awards, highlighting the most exciting annual additions to the region’s built environment.
Monumental Awards spotlights the businesses and individuals who prioritize quality of place through planning, design, and building more appealing and attractive places to live, work, and play.
“This event showcases the vision and talents of Indy’s design, engineering, and construction industries and highlights individuals dedicating their time and creativity to building long-lasting development for the Indy Region,” said Sarah Iglehart, Vice President of Regional Economic Development at Indy Chamber. “Working closely with our local partners to drive economic development efforts helps tell our story to site consultants and businesses throughout the country. With quality of place driving so much of the site selection and talent attraction decision-making today, this work has never been more critical.”
Submissions are open beginning today until midnight on Friday, July 1. Projects completed between June 1, 2017, and June 1, 2022, in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Morgan, and Shelby counties are eligible.
“We couldn’t be happier with the regional participation we had last year and what that meant in how our built environment is taking shape,” said Lynn Busby, Monumental Awards Chairperson and Director of Community Outreach at Indiana Careers in Construction Association. “We are striving to make the 2022 Monumental Awards the most inclusive and industry diverse awards we’ve ever hosted. We can’t wait to welcome projects to the nomination list in industries that are evolving based on the needs and interests of the community.”
Submissions will be evaluated by expert committees using criteria developed by a number of industry and professional organizations, including the American Institute of Architects, the International Interior Design Association, the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Indiana Construction Roundtable, the Indiana State Museum, the Urban Land Institute, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Indiana, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation.
