Indy Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
A FREE VIRTUAL reasonable suspicion “signs & symptoms” training for supervisors.
Course Content & Description:
This 90-minute training teaches supervisors and managers how to appropriately identify and effectively respond to suspected employee impairment. Knowledge checks are peppered throughout to increase content retention and a case vignette concludes this training to increase supervisor comfort and confidence applying what they have learned.
Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
1. Reiterate the four rules for responding to suspected employee impairment.
2. Identify signs of impairment for on-site and remote employees.
3. Recognize personal barriers that inhibit response and drug-testing.
4. Describe (and demonstrate) an effective, non-confrontational conversation with an employee suspected of impairment.

Meet the trainer: Ryan West Began working in the chemical addictions field in 2007 as a clinical evaluator, counselor and workplace consultant for a regional drug and alcohol treatment provider in Pennsylvania. Over the past eight years, Ryan has helped hundreds of organizations, from international to local, re-develop their drug and alcohol policies, drug testing procedures, and drug training and awareness programs. He also frequently speaks at regional and state conferences as an authority on chemical addictions and cooccurring disorders – how they develop, how they are treated, and how they impact the individual, the family unit, and the workplace.
Ryan proudly serves as the Director of Corporate Training and Business Development for ARCpoint Labs – a full-service national third-party provider/administrator or accurate, reliable, and confidential diagnostic testing for individuals, companies, and legal and healthcare professionals. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology and a master’s degree in psychology with an industrial-organizational concentration.
