André Carson, U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, has recently addressed his constituents on social media regarding redistricting and community efforts to combat hunger in Indianapolis.

On October 30, 2025, Carson urged Hoosiers to take action against what he described as unfair redistricting measures pending at the Indiana Statehouse. In a post that day, he wrote: "How can Hoosiers fight unfair redistricting? As soon as next week, the Indiana Statehouse will vote on this issue. You should contact your state representative AND your state senator. Find your state lawmakers here: https://t.co/5twyY88lLZ https://t.co/I4wYGpOdHU" (October 30, 2025).

Later that same day, Carson highlighted the unique status of his district and criticized mid-decade redistricting efforts. He stated: "My district in Indianapolis is the only majority-minority district. Mid-decade redistricting is just an attempt to silence dissent." (October 30, 2025).

In addition to addressing legislative issues, Carson also spotlighted local initiatives aimed at addressing food insecurity among children in Indianapolis. He posted: "Indianapolis is coming together to ensure children don't go hungry. Carson has served in Congress since replacing Julia Carson in 2008 and previously served on the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008. Born in Indianapolis in 1974 and currently residing there, Carson graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a BA in 2003.
