Indianapolis Public Schools announced that six students have been recognized by the Carson Scholars Fund this year. These students either received $1,000 college scholarships or were acknowledged for maintaining the high standards of the program.
The Carson Scholars Fund honors students in grades 4-11 who maintain at least a 3.75 GPA and demonstrate significant humanitarian qualities through community service.
These scholars will be celebrated at the 21st annual Pittsburgh Carson Scholars Awards Ceremony on April 6, 2025, at Acrisure Stadium. This event is part of a series of six regional banquets across the country, celebrating a total of 579 new scholars and 931 recognized scholars this year—the largest cohort to date.
"We congratulate these outstanding students who stand out as agents of change, actively contributing to society through their academic excellence and community engagement," stated Indianapolis Public Schools. "They represent the future leaders of our community and our country."
The Carson Scholars Fund is a nonprofit charity founded in 1994 by retired Johns Hopkins pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Benjamin Carson and his wife, Candy. To date, it has awarded over 12,000 scholarships nationwide.
